Fine Art Paper

product and process compatibility

Choosing the correct material for the application is critical. Get this right and the end result can be outstanding.
All of the products offered for sale on this website are suitable for Inkjet and Digital print processes and are compatible with dye and pigmented inkjet systems.
To ensure that you achieve outstanding results and optimum performance please take note of these guidelines :

Handling Paper

  • Do not fold or roll the paper. It's best to handle paper at the edges only to avoid finger marking the surface. Moisture and oils from your skin can contaminate the surface and affect print quality.

Printing the Paper

  • Ensure that you print the correct side of the paper. On some papers the print side will be obvious, for example on our "Photo Gloss" products.
If you are unsure, please try the following :
Art Papers generally have a curl to them and the printing side is the concave side of the paper.

The emulsion (coated) side of the paper will always be sticky when moisture is applied. Touching each side with either your tongue or thumb and forefinger will identify the printing side. The printing side will feel sticky, the non-printing side will not.
Ensure your fingers are clean before you try!
  • For papers heavier than 200g/m2 it's best to use the single sheet feed on your printer.

Printer Driver Settings

  • A Print Quality of 720dpi or 1440dpi will be ideal for any of the papers we offer for sale on this website. Choose the following Media Types :

    Paper   Media Type

  • A list of printers which are known to work well with our products can be found at the detailed product description level. This list is for guidance only. Even if your printer isn't listed it is likely that you can still achieve fantastic results with our papers.

Storing Printouts

  • Each printed sheet should be removed from the printer outfeed tray immediately after printing and not stacked. This is to allow the ink to completely dry.
  • Prints should be allowed to dry in air (not covered) for up to 24 hours to allow solvents in the ink to evaporate.

Storing Unused Paper

  • Put any unused paper back into its original packaging and store it away from extreme temperatures, high humidity and bright light.

We recommend storing the paper within a temperature range between 15 - 25 degrees Centigrade (59 - 77 degrees Fahrenheit) and at a Relative Humidity between 40 - 60 per cent.
